Welcoming TAIWAN..and see you in
TSG2009Taipei
A letter from Ivan Yap
Dear TSG Fans & Friends,
First of all, I would like to send my toast to all of
you who have supported the TSG2008KL. It has been quite
a tiring process throughout the planning and also operating
for the Games but it was fun and a worthwhile learning
experience.
The responds have been tremendous and a lot of good
feedback so far (touch wood).
I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude
to all my hardworking committee and also volunteers.
You guys did really put all your best in making this
year TSG another memorable event.
TSG2008KL has attracted over 180 participants from Singapore,
Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines and not forgetting
our home country; Malaysia. This has been a record breaking
in the TSG history in terms of the participant numbers
and also the countries. The Philippines is the latest
addition to the TSG family together with Taiwan who
joined us in last year.
This year has also seen more Games being contested with
new addition of Tennis and re-introduction of Squash,
together with the 3 tradition sports ; Badminton, Bowling,
and Volleyball. Badminton became the most medals offered
sports with its Competition for the Doubles Team event,
Doubles Friendly Match and Singles. ***Full Results
please awaits for the next separate mail***
As TSG celebrating friendship through sports, we are
not forgetting the Social sector as well, which is part
and parcel to the formation of TSG. This is year we
are glad to have BAAN26, for have been so supportive
by sponsoring our Welcoming Reception and also the Volunteer
Thank You Party. We were the first batch of people to
grace the re-opening of the newly renovated outlet.
Club Parties is another attraction to the participants
and supporters together with the volunteers. PrinceWorldKL
has endorsed a 2 nights of Party, with the theme Sporty
Boyz. The Opening Night was held at Oblique on the 11th
October, blasted off with the appearance of the Cheerleader
group and also special appearance by our Sister from
Phuket, Helena and Ong. The Recovery Party was held
at Maison Club after the Gala Dinner on 12th October.
The ever waited Gala Dinner was just another event not
to be given a missed. All the guests have came in white
outfit to MegaView Banquet Hall of KL Tower. The opening
of the night has been officiated by the PTF Chairman,
Hisham. All guests were thrilled with spectacular view
of the KL City view as the curtains winding up as symbols
of the opening.
As the tradition continues, most of the participating
countries have readied with their special performance.
Lala Kroft is one of our original homegrown diva, squeezing
her watermelon for the audience. The Philipines; has
shown a their homemade video + dance performance. The
Hong Kong also came out with fresh idea, with their
nearly naked boys (man) and last but not least the eye-catching
performance from our neighbourhood Thailand Divas. There
were also cultural performances courtesy from the KL
Tower Cultural group.
TSG has also becoming popular as we have seen 2 countries
have tendered their bid to become the next host country.
There were Taiwan and Singapore. Both offers are quite
fresh and attractive, however, only one can be the winner.
After much discussion have been made, the decision has
reached with full support gone to TAIWAN!
A closing remark; I would like to express my utmost
gratitude to all my fellows warriors, supporters and
my beloved half for have given their fullest support
in making this year TSG2008KL a GREAT SUCCESS. Also
not forgetting to render my apology to those whom I
have unintentionally hurt and caused uneasiness feeling.
Shall I see you guys in next year TSG.
Welcoming TAIWAN..and see you in TSG2009Taipei.
Regards;
Ivan Yap | Organising Chairperson TSG2008KL
