Most hotels are gay friendly but many hotels and guesthouses will charge you extra if you want to have overnight visitor. Some hotels are gay owned, gay managed and staffed. Some hotels do marketing to gay customers but nothing more. Some hotels do have a staff policy that is LGBT aware and friendly. Some hotels fire staff if they are found out to be gay or HIV positive.
There are many Gay-owned Hotels and Guesthouses in the Paradise Complex area, which is also where you find the gay nightlife. Nightlife also means a lot of noice in some hotels. Room rates here range from 200 to 18000 Baht/night.
If you stay in the Paradise Complex area you have walking distance to over 20 gay venues. Staying outside this area means you have to arrange with transport to get to the gay area.
Phuket offers a wide variety of accommodations, rates start at around 200 Baht for a bed in a dormitory, guesthouses from 400 Baht per night, up to 20,000 Baht and more per night for a luxury suite in a big 5 star hotel or a small boutique hotel.
The top end among the luxury resorts is Amanpuri and The Surin Phuket Hotel formely The Chedi on Panasea beach. The elegant thatched suite huts and exclusive setting will impress even the worldliest connoisseur. If you can afford it. Rates starts from 750 US$ up to 18000 US$/night for a 6 bedroom pool villa with ocean view.
Rates differ between the seasons and you will most probably get big discounts during the monsoon season (April-November).

WiFi and Internet access
WiFi and Internet Connection is available in many hotels. Some hotels give this service for free while other charge hourly or 200 up to 800 THB per day. If you not already got it, get a Thai Sim card for your smartphone. 4G Internet service is available cross the Island. Dtac, AIS and True are the main service providers and they all have "tourist Sim" cards at really affordable prices. You will need this not only for your hook-up apps but also to get around. Grab-taxi is the app of choice for transports. You can book meter-taxi, a normal taxi or a bigger SUV/limo. In some locations like Bangkok you can even book a motorbike taxi.
One tip. You can often get a free SIM card and Phuket maps at the airport while you wait for your luggage. Keep your eyes open.
